1990’s
Amanda’s earliest presenting was in 1998 where she presented reports for Wish You Were Here (full ITV network). Other early presenting credits include When Britain First Had Talent, Really Wild At Heart, Greasemania and the National Music Awards (ITV1).
2000’s
In 2009 she presented ITV1's Celebrating the Carpenters (alongside Ronan Keating) and she has presented the prestigious awards ceremony A Night of Heroes every year since 2009 alongside Phillip Schofield for ITV1. Amanda appeared in a documentary Out of My Depth for ITV1, which also transmitted in 2009, where she trained as a midwife and helped deliver 5 babies.
2010’s
In 2010 she presented The Children's Champions Awards for Sky One (alongside Chris Evans). She regularly reports for CBS The Early Show in New York doing showbiz news and events and has been their UK Correspondent since June 2009.
In addition to this Amanda starred in a three part series for ITV1 called Amanda's Fantasy Lives where she performed as a Country singer, danced as a showgirl at the famous Paris Lido, and became a stunt women. This meant carrying out real stunts including crashing a police car into warehouse and jumping off a 60ft building. Amanda also presented ITV1's The Door alongside Chris Tarrant.
The summer of 2012 she hosted the huge new talent show for ITV Jesus Christ Superstar in a battle to find the role of Jesus to star in an Arena Tour of Rock Musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
In early 2014 Amanda reported for 'Dispatches - Exposting Hospital Heartache', where she exposed some hospitals’ upsetting policies with regards to miscarragies and stillbirths. In response to Amanda’s report - the Department of Health immediately banned hospitals from carrying out these practices.
September 2014 – June 2015 saw Amanda join Philip Schofield in presenting Live on ITV’s daily show - This Morning, she also hosted ITV's Lorraine for various dates over 2015. And in early 2015 Amanda also hosted the first series of ITV’s Give a Pet a Home where RSPCA animals were found new homes with viewers each week.
In 2016 Amanda hosted 'I've got something to tell you' for Sky W, a show that featured ordinary people making extroadinary confessions.
Amanda is the longest standing Judge on Britains Got Talent having been there from day one, a total of 11 years on the show. During this time the show has pulled in audiences in excess of 20 million viewers and series four resulted in the finding of the worldwide phenomenon Susan Boyle. Other judges have included Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, Michael Mcintyre and David Hasslehoff.
Television - Acting
1990's
On graduating from Mountview Theatre School in July 1992, Amanda immediately landed her first role in Granada's In Suspicious Circumstances with Edward Woodward.
Early film appearances include Intimate Relations and the comedy series We Know Where You Live with Simon Pegg for Channel 5. Early in 1998 she was a regular guest on Goodness Gracious Me, the BBC2 TV sketch show series.
Amanda really became a household name when she played the part of Mel in three series of the hit comedy Kiss Me Kate (1998 - 2000)- a co-production by BBC TV and Carlton TV - starring Caroline Quentin and in 1999 she then went on to star as 'Miss Titley' in all three series of ITV's popular comedy series The Grimleys which cemented her reputation as one of the nation's favourite actresses.
2000’s
In 2000 Amanda starred in BBC1's romantic comedy Happy Birthday Shakespeare. In 2000 - 2001 she then starred alongside Damien Lewis in two series of the BBC1's Hearts and Bones; a drama series about a group of friends from Coventry who are trying to make a living for themselves in London.
A new drama The Hunt was screened on ITV in 2001 and a 90-minute single drama Now You See Her for Sky One was also shown. In 2002 she co-starred with Harry Enfield in Celeb, a six part comedy series for the BBC and in 2003 she starred in Mad About Alice, a BBC sitcom.
From 2002 until 2005 Amanda starred in three series of the prime-time BAFTA winning and hugely popular show Cutting It, also for the BBC. In 2004 she co-starred alongside Tom Courtney in Ready When You Are Mr McGill, Jack Rosenthal's classic comedy drama and as Lucy Eyelesbarrow in ITV's big Boxing Day special Marple alongside Geraldine McEwan and John Hannah.
From 2006 until 2008 Amanda played the leading role of Sarah Trevanion in three hugely successful series of ITV1's Wild At Heart with Hayley Mills and Stephen Tomkinson.
Amanda also played the lead in Big Top, a comedy sitcom for BBC1, which transmitted in 2009.
More recently, Amanda starred in BBC's Worst Witch as guest witch - Miss Pentangle.
Stage / Theatre
1990’s
In Amanda’s early theatre career she played Liesl Von Trapp in The Sound of Music and Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest.
2000’s
Amanda then took the title role in the West End musical Thoroughly Modern Millie for which she received outstanding reviews and was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
2010’s
Amanda starred as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical at London's West End at the Drury Lane theatre which premiered on the 14th June 2011. For her role as Princess Fiona Amanda enjoyed star reviews and huge success. After creating the role of Princess Fiona in its Opening Premier in London's West End Amanda picked up Best Actress in A Musical for the What's On Stage Awards, Best Theatre Actress at the Glamour 2012 Women of the Year Awards and Best Actress in a Musical for the Cosmopolitan Awards.
Amanda currently stars as Vera in the play Stepping Out which is on at the Vaudeville Theatre in the West-End. Stepping Out achieved the biggest ever 'advance' at the Box office in the Vaudeville's history.
